Meals On Wheels West (MOWW) home bound clients with pets are set to benefit from a new partnership to provide pet food and vet care to their furry friends.
Named Miss Lilly’s Pet Food Program, this community partnership is between MOWW, Miss Lilly’s Trading Company, Centinela Feed and Pet Supplies, Gamma Plastics, and First Care Animal Health.
“Our new pet care program ensures that beloved pets are well nourished and eliminates the temptation for clients to share their Meals On Wheels West deliveries with their pets,” said RoseMary Regalbuto, President/CEO of Meals On Wheels West. “This way everyone is well nourished. It is my understanding that seniors who have pets live five percent longer and enjoy a higher quality of life.”
BeBe Flynn, CEO and Founder of Miss Lilly’s Trading Company, initiated the relationship with Meals On Wheels West and spearheaded the launch of Miss Lilly’s Pet Food Program.
Proceeds from the sales of her company’s cookies will provide funding needed for pets with special diets, vet visits and some medical needs of the client’s pets.
Chris Nakagawa, CEO of Centinela Feed and Pet Supplies, is proud to be associated with MOWW and Miss Lilly’s Trading Company to support this program and make it a sustainable ongoing partnership.
On an ongoing basis, Centinela Feed and Pet Supplies will provide bulk food to Meals On Wheels West for distribution to appropriate clients.
In addition, Johnny Rodriguez, of Gamma Plastics is donating containers to hold the bulk pet food.
First Care Animal Health will provide mobile medical care including shots and flea medication to clients’ pets.
Since Miss Lilly’s Trading Company began in 2009 – we have been committed to changing the face of hunger among senior citizens and their pets.
Miss Lilly’s CEO, Bebe Flynn became aware of this epidemic when she started volunteering with Meals on Wheels and knew that she wanted to actively help.
A percentage of Miss Lilly’s profits go to supporting this cause of eliminating hunger VIA a partnership with Meals on Wheels and through Miss Lilly’s Pet Program.
Miss Lilly’s Pet Program has provided pet food to many, many senior’s pets and our vision is to GROW.

 Lilly Oats Cookie Package
• Miss Lilly’s Secret cookie, the company’s signature, is a multi-layered chocolate chip cookie made with Belgian, bittersweet chocolate, hand-chopped pecans, shredded coconut, and rolled oats.
• The key ingredients in the Lilly Oats cookie are chewy and delectable rolled oats, infused with gourmet cinnamon and bold allspice (ground from the zesty evergreen berry), and sweet, dried cranberries.
• Miss Lilly’s Savory Chocolate Chunks cookie has a near-cult following: crunchy and chewy, savory and sweet, it features chunks of the finest Belgian chocolate (cocoa beans are roasted, shelled and crushed to become a molten chocolate liquor, which is then mixed with a rich, finely ground cocoa powder). Each cookie is sprinkled with grains of sea salt extracted from ancient rock deposits.
Each cookie contains additional ingredients of the highest quality, including: unsalted butter, whole eggs, and unbleached whole wheat flour.

A Portion of our Profits Benefits Elders & Their Pets
As a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, I learned that 80% of seniors live in threat of hunger. Elders share meals with their pets, because they often can’t afford pet food. As a lover of pets and seniors, this became my call to action, so I founded Miss Lilly’s. Bebe Flynn, Founder of Miss Lilly’s
Larchmont Chronicle – April 2010
By Laura Eversz
Bebe Flynn remembers the day she learned about St. Vincent’s Meals on Wheels. “I was at the L.A. Tennis Club playing with Daryl Twerdahl, who I’d just met, and the next thing I know the game was finished and she was dragging me down to the Meals on Wheels kitchen.”
Twerdahl is executive director of the Foundation that funds the preparation and delivery of 4,700 meals a day to the homebound and seniors across L.A. Flynn said she was so compelled by the whole scenario, she immediately signed on as a volunteer. “I had been spending a lot of time with my father who had just passed away, and I just really became aware of the plight of the elderly.”
